The GOP-led House of representatives is gearing up for investigations into the Biden Administration.
According to a new report, the House Judiciary Committee and Weaponization of the federal government Committee plan to adopt a rule allowing them to issue subpoenas without consulting Democrats. This will allow both committees to expedite the process of issuing subpoenas.
‘It reflects the “urgency” of Republican plans to investigate the Biden administration on several fronts’ according to a Source
Another source told CNN that the move will effectively allow Republicans on the House Judiciary Committee and select subcommittee to unilaterally issue subpoenas.
In doing this, Republicans say they are taking a page from Democrats, including former House Oversight Committee chairman Elijah Cummings of Maryland, asserting he had previously waived rules that required members of the opposite party be consulted before subpoenas were issued.
Jim Jordan already sent letters to Officials Timothy Thibault, Nina Jankowicz, Jennifer Leigh Moore, Chip Slaven, and Viola Garcia requesting information and interviews.
If they don’t comply with the request Jordan said subpoenas will follow.
