KAMALA HARRIS FACES IMPEACHMENT AFTER HOUSE REPUBLICAN FILE ARTICLES

July 24, 2024

A House Republican has introduced articles of impeachment against Vice President Kamala Harris after President Joe Biden agreed this week to end his reelection bid and endorsed her to become the party’s nominee ahead of the November election.

Screenshots of the resolution filed by Rep. Anthony Ogles (R-Tenn.) were posted to the X platform by POLITICO’s Olivia Beavers. They accuse Harris of “high crimes and misdemeanors” in response to her handling of the migrant crisis as “border czar” and for allegedly misleading the American people about Biden’s physical and cognitive decline.

Ogles, who is running in the Republican primary in Tennessee’s 5th Congressional District on August 1 and has received an endorsement from former President Donald Trump, previously introduced articles of impeachment against Biden and Harris last year.

Earlier on Tuesday, Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY), the third-ranking House Republican, introduced a resolution that would have the GOP-led House condemn Harris for her failure as the Biden administration’s “border czar” to resolve the migrant crisis.

In March 2021, around two months after Biden and Harris took office, he tasked her with addressing the then-mounting illegal immigration and border security crisis, which Republicans blame on Biden’s mass reversal of former President Donald Trump’s successful policies his first day in office. At the time, Harris said her objective would be to “address the root causes…that cause people to make the trek.”

In the years since, however, illegal migrant crossings have hit and broken several records, and the issue of illegal immigrant crime and overcrowding in major cities has become a massive 2024 campaign issue, which plays to Trump’s favor.

Trump 2024 national press secretary Karoline Leavitt says First Lady Jill Biden should be held accountable for “elder abuse” with her husband, arguing that many can now see his noticeable decline in mental acuity, which also left many Americans concerned about Joe’s ability to continue serving as president.
