We can put an end to speculation over whether or not former President Donald Trump will run for the position of House Speaker because he is endorsing Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), according to a post on social media by Rep. Troy Nehls (R-TX) on Thursday night.
Just had a great conversation with President Trump about the Speaker’s race.
He is endorsing Jim Jordan, and I believe Congress should listen to the leader of our party.

If accurate, Jordan has been a one-man wrecking crew in challenging the Biden Justice Department on a number of issues, including the two-tiered justice system advocated by Attorney General Merrick Garland, which consistently seems to tip the scales against Trump while treating others like First Son Hunter Biden with kid gloves.
Jordan has vigorously defended Trump as chairman of the Judiciary Committee and called out the FBI, Manhattan district attorney Alvin Bragg, Fulton County district attorney Fani Willis, and others for what he perceives to be their political prosecution of the former president.
Obviously, if Trump does officially support Jordan, it will significantly increase the Freedom Caucus member’s prospects of winning the job.
The former President is still a significant player in the GOP, since he is by far the front-runner in the polls for the party’s presidential candidature.
While others would rather have Scalise or someone else than the Ohio congressman, supporters of Jordan like political analyst and podcaster Joey Mannarino are ecstatic about the prospect:

Sincerily, I had no idea Matt Gaetz would have been able to accomplish this. Jordan was actually exchanged for McCarthy. This feels dreamlike.
