Donald Trump is entitled to sue New York Attorney General Letitia James, according to a contributor to Fox News, for allegedly breaching the former president’s civil rights.
The comment was released by political analyst and regular guest on the conservative television channel Deroy Murdock after a New York appeals court decided to delay the payment of Trump’s $454 million civil fraud penalty as a result of James’ case. Instead, the ex-president was told to post a $175 million bond to the court within 10 days while he appealed.
In order to obtain advantageous conditions from lenders, Trump inflated the worth of his properties and other assets, according to Judge Arthur Engoron’s declaration in February. The Monday financial guarantee payment delay prevented James’ agency from starting the process of seizing Trump’s properties.
According to Newsweek, Murdock reiterated his suggestions from an American Spectator piece that Trump should file a lawsuit against James over comments she made in 2018 while running for state attorney general of New York.
According to him, James added that the Trump administration was “too male, too pale, and too stale,” and that’s why she was going to fight it.
You could discuss outdated concepts, which is acceptable, but being overly white and masculine essentially amounts to racial and sexual prejudice. Thus, in my opinion, President Trump should file a lawsuit against her based on the 1964 Civil Rights Act, as stated by Murdock in a Fox News interview on Tuesday.
“Her office receives government funding for a range of law enforcement activity subsidies. Federal funds are therefore pouring into her office, and if she continues to use language that constitutes sexual and racial discrimination, Murdock stated, “I think she’s wide open to exposure on the 1964 Civil Rights Act.”
Murdock went on, “Donald J. Trump ought to sue Letitia James based on civil rights.”
Additionally, Trump charged James with leading a
“racist” and politically motivated investigation into him.
Writing in The American Spectator, Murdock suggested the former president should sue James as “what the hell does Trump have to lose?”
Alina Habba, a lawyer representing Trump, is celebrating a recent win after an appellate court reduced his bond in a civil fraud case.
During an interview with Jesse Watters on Fox News last month, Habba expressed her satisfaction with the bond’s reduction from $454 million to $175 million, also taking the opportunity to criticize New York Attorney General Letitia James.
“I hope she took a little piece of humble pie today because that’s what was served to her, just a little, but we’ll be serving a lot more of that in the next couple of years,” she said about the AG.
When Watters inquired if James and Judge Engoron felt a little bit “ashamed” and “embarrassed,” Habba sarcastically proposed that they would require them to have a “moral compass” and a “conscious.”
In a statement following the decision, Attorney James said that the reduced bond does not reverse the decision finding Trump guilty of fraud.
The statement said, “Donald Trump is still facing accountability for his staggering fraud.” The court has previously determined that he committed years of deception in order to fabricate his net worth and unfairly benefit his family, his business, and himself. The $464 million judgement against Donald Trump and the other defendants—along with interest—remains in effect.
Meanwhile, in the race for Texas’ 40 electoral votes, Trump leads President Joe Biden by twice as much as he did in the Lone Star State four years prior, according to a recent poll.
