GOP REP WANTS TO FINE ADAM SCHIFF $16 MILLION FOR TRUMP-RUSSIA LIES

July 24, 2023

GOP Florida Representative Anna Paulina Luna sponsored a measure to punish California Representative Adam Schiff $16 million for his false statements regarding the previous president of the United States.

The resolution was introduced on Tuesday by the Florida representative, and the House Ethics Committee was notified right once.

That sum, according to Luna, is almost equal to the cost of the federal investigation into the claimed Trump-Russia conspiracy, which was refuted by the special counsel reports from both John Durham and Robert Mueller.

The GOP Conference concurs that Adam Schiff has intentionally exploited positions of extreme authority, lied repeatedly, and as a result, must be held accountable, Luna stated. In light of this, the resolution demands that Rep. Schiff pay a $16 million fine, which is equal to half of the sum that American taxpayers were forced to pay for the Russia hoax investigation.

Schiff “abused this trust” by citing evidence of collusion that later special counsel reports revealed did not exist, according to Luna’s resolution, which claimed Schiff had a position of “extreme trust” as the chair of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (HPSCI), giving him access to sensitive information that was not available to other members.

The resolution stated that Representative Schiff “purposefully misled his Committee, Congress, and the American people by repeatedly telling these falsehoods.” It was mentioned that Schiff “lent credibility” to the Steele dossier, backed a FISA warrant against Trump ally Carter Page, and publicly accused Page of working with the Russians.

“Representative Schiff exploited his positions on HPSCI to encourage and excuse abusive intelligence investigations of Americans for political purposes,” the statement read. Representative Schiff launched a falsely based investigation using his position and access to sensitive material in order to raise money for campaign contributions and political advantage.

“American taxpayers paid $32 million to fund the investigation into collusion that was… launched as a result of Rep. Schiff’s lies, misrepresentations, and abuses of sensitive information,” it said.

In order to support his claim that he had seen “more than circumstantial evidence” of Trump’s connection, Schiff, who presided over the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, read items from the discredited Steele dossier into the legislative record.

In 2018, he added, “I can say with certainty that there is significant evidence of collusion between the campaign and Russia.”

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) had already removed Schiff earlier this year from his perch on the Intelligence Committee for his lack of “integrity” and “misuse” of the panel’s resources.
