Following an attack by Iran over the weekend, the chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence has criticised the Biden administration for actions against Israel that he claims are intended to tie the Jewish state’s hands.
Representative Mike Turner (R-Ohio) issued a warning, stating that the administration’s actions were giving Iran more confidence and motivating the Islamic government to increase its backing and participation in activities aimed at further destabilising the area.
Turner discussed Iran’s strike on Israel, which included 185 one-way suicide drones, 110 surface-to-surface missiles, and 36 cruise missiles, in an interview that aired on NBC News’s “Meet the Press” on Sunday, according to the Daily Wire.
“Sadly, the Biden Administration believes that using missile defence prevents an attack from occurring,” he stated. “That’s how they responded to the more than 100 terrorist attacks on American forces that have taken place in Iraq and Syria, killing three American soldiers in Jordan, all carried out by groups and organisations with Iranian support.”
The Daily Wire said that host Kristen Welker repeatedly cut off Turner during the interview, generally to support the Biden administration. Welker had claimed that the administration has launched “more than 100” counteroffensives throughout the Middle East against Iranian proxies.
Turner shot back, saying, “That’s not necessarily true.” Therefore, the Biden Administration declared that they would act if American troops were killed or injured. There were almost 100 attacks on US troops, and they did not return fire.
“Iran has been attacking Israel for decades,” the speaker declared. Hezbollah is trained and funded by them. They provide funding and training to Hamas, who carried out the horrific strikes on October 7th into Israel that resulted in several fatalities in the manner in which it was executed, all as a result of they were trained, funded, and given weapons by Iran.
The Intel chairman said what the Biden administration should understand was that Iran has “already taken the next step,” and if there is no response, then that will be giving them “a free pass,” which will ultimately lead to more attacks.
