James Comer, the chairman of the House Oversight Committee, charged Hunter Biden’s attorneys on Monday with intimidating possible witnesses and informants who were supporting his panel’s investigation into the first son’s international business transactions.
In an interview with Fox News, Comer stated, “We know that the lawyers for Hunter Biden have contacted our witnesses and with folks who are cooperating from a subpoena standpoint. “We think that this is very almost going too far. Evidently, witness intimidation is their goal, in my opinion. This is unacceptable.
“Yes, I would consider that witness intimidation,” Comer said, adding that the committee intends to ask for immunity for some people participating with the investigation. “If you get a call from the lawyers and they remind you of your potential liability in some of these business schemes then yes, I would consider that witness intimidation.”
That is a significant matter, and hopefully Merrick Garland and the [Justice Department] will grant those individuals immunity, he said. “The message is sent loud and clear that this legal team needs to be very careful moving forward.”
Comer also claimed that Democratic-funded “dark money groups” were attempting to intimidate him and Jim Jordan, the chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, into ceasing their inquiries into the Biden family.
He declared, “They have dark money groups trying to intimidate both Chairman Jim Jordan and me, which isn’t helping their cause.
We’re not afraid of them. We’re going to keep going and inform the American people of the facts.
The scope of this family’s influence-peddling will be revealed to the American people in the upcoming days and weeks, according to a wealth of facts that will emerge, Comer continued.
While Hunter fights his baby mom in court about child support payments for his 4-year-old daughter, the judge in Arkansas railed into him and his attorneys for “sealing and redacting” his financial information.
The First Son was criticised by the court presiding over Hunter Biden’s child support trial on Monday for’sealing and redacting’ his financial records.
‘The ability to redact is somewhat being abused,’ Judge Holly Meyer fumed. ‘I’m seeing a lot of things filed, especially by Mr. Biden’s counsel, sealing things, redacting things, that are not confidential.’
