A petition to boot’squad’ lawmaker Rashida Tlaib out of office has received close to 200,000 signatures from citizens of the United States.
On the House floor earlier that day, Tlaib lost her temper and started crying when Republicans voted to kick fellow “Squad” member Ilhan Omar (D., Minn.) from the House Foreign Affairs Committee.
Through tears, Talib replied, “Sis, I am very sorry that our country is failing you tonight. The GOP is currently using hatred as a weapon against a black, attractive Muslim woman, which is what it does best.
Republicans, according to another “Squad” member Ocasio-Cortez (N.Y.), pulled Omar from the committee due to her race.
“Targeting and racism against Muslim Americans… and inciting violence against women of colour… have been one of the disgusting legacies after 9/11,” Ocasio-Cortez stated.
