PETITION TO REMOVE NADLER FROM CONGRESS GETS MULTIPLE SIGNATURES

July 26, 2023

Numerous people have signed a petition calling for Jerry Nadler to be expelled from Congress.

The petitioner said in a statement that “Congress works for we the people, not the other way around” and that “there can be NO PERSONAL agenda’s by any elected official.”

When the House Judiciary Committee holds a field hearing next week, Jerry Nadler said he will defend Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg and make an effort to refute Republican assertions that crime is on the rise in New York City.

The hearing, which is scheduled to take place in the Big Apple on Monday, will focus on how the pro-crime and anti-victim policies of Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg have increased violent crime and made New York City people feel unsafe in their neighbourhood.

Despite Nadler’s assertion on the “fraudulent nature” of Republican criticism of the criminal justice system in the most populated city in the United States, some violent crimes have gone up recently.

According to data from the New York Police Department provided earlier this year, violent felony offence reports increased from 35,964 in 2020 to 38,645 in 2021 and then to 45,529 in 2022. Additionally, from 95,593 in 2020 to 102,741 in 2021 to 126,589 in 2022, the overall number of felonies—both violent and nonviolent—rose.
