SiriusXM podcast host Megyn Kelly criticised a CNN host for her actions during a town hall-style event featuring 2024 GOP presidential contender Vivek Ramaswamy on Friday during a segment with guests Josh Holmes, Comfortably Smug, Michael Duncan, and John Ashbrook, all hosts of The Ruthless Podcast.
Kelly pointed out that instead of allowing Ramaswamy to finish his remarks, moderator Abby Phillips cut him off multiple times during the event.
Kelly remarked, “That Abby Philip is annoying.” She constantly interrupts. Like, just shut up. Allow him to finish his sentence. Then [do it] if you want to fact-check him afterward. But shut up. CNN has an unwillingness to allow the candidates to speak, which is truly a disservice even if you don’t agree with what he’s saying. Yeah, you invited him! Let him say it! Then do your fact check.”
“The more she’s [Abby Phillip] trying to censor what he’s saying. I’m like, what’s he saying? Why is she so averse to it? Like his words are so vile, they cannot be uttered. They can be uttered, Abby. Let him finish. You invited him there. Let him make his damn point. And if you watch the whole clip, it’s not like he was going on forever. Like, it was a reasonable amount of time he took to set up his point. Just f–king let him make it,” Kelly said.
Ramaswamy attempted to clarify earlier claims about what happened on January 6, 2021, at one point, implying that there were federal agents present in the throng. Phillips frequently interrupted the candidate to assert that there was insufficient evidence to back up her proposition.
In reality, however, The New York Times revealed in September 2021 that during the masses of people that flocked to the Capitol Building on January 6, the day after then-President Donald Trump’s address, there was at least one FBI informant present.
Furthermore, a number of Republican congressmen have persistently pressed FBI officials, notably Director Christopher Wray, to divulge the number of spies the agency might have had among the throng, but to no success.
“I want to tell you guys where I’m at,” Ramaswamy said during his CNN event this week. “If you had told me — it’s close to three years ago that January 6, 2021 happened. If you told me back when I was a biotech CEO, not steeped in this world. I was consuming passive media but was focused on my world of developing medicines.
“If you told me January 6th was in any way an inside job, the subject of government entrapment, I would have told you that was crazy talk. Fringe conspiracy theory nonsense,” he continued.
“I can tell you, having gone somewhat deep in this, it’s not,” Ramaswamy continued. “The reality is this. We do have a government that we have knowledge of that has lied to us systematically over the last several years about the origin of COVID-19, about the Hunter Biden laptop we were told was false by 51 CIA experts and otherwise before we now know it was true.
“You can go straight down the list, the Trump-Russia disinformation collusion hoax. All of it. Now we come to January 6th. The reality is we know that there were federal law enforcement agents in the field. We don’t know how many,” he said before Phillip interrupted.
“I’m going to go ahead and interrupt you here,” she said.
“Because the establishment doesn’t approve of this message?” Ramaswamy fired back.
