An activist who backs former President Donald Trump gained widespread attention on the internet after confronting Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) last week at an airport.
CEO of X Strategies Alex Bruesewitz claimed to have “ran into [Schiff] at the airport” and shared a video of the interaction on social media.
Schiff had made false claims repeatedly during Trump’s presidency, claiming that the then-president “colluded” with Russian President Vladimir Putin to steal the 2016 election from two-time Democratic loser Hillary Clinton. Bruesewitz told Schiff, “I think you should be ashamed of yourself and how often you lie to the American people.”
The next year’s U.S. Senate race, in which Schiff is vying for the late Sen. Dianne Feinstein’s seat and is almost tied with fellow Democrat Rep. Katie Porter, was brought up by Bruesewitz.
“I hope you retire from American politics because you are a sick man and that you lose your Senate race, which it appears you are doing.”
Then the person filming said to Schiff, “I appreciate you costing him a lot of money.”
Bruesewitz was previously called to testify before the Nancy Pelosi-picked Jan. 6 Committee.
In a June post on X, the GOP activist said, “Adam Schiff knowingly sent out BS subpoenas to dozens of innocent citizens. Forcing people to spend fortunes to defend themselves. Not just with the Russian collusion big lie, but also with the sham January 6th committee. Schiff used both of those lies to personally enrich himself and gain political notoriety.”
The specific airport where the incident occurred is unknown, but Bruesewitz added on Monday, taking to the platform, “Adam Schiff is a sick man who should have been expelled from Congress a long time ago.”
He went on, “He conned the American taxpayers with his fake witch hunt on Russian collusion and then did it again with the J6 committee.” “Elon Musk is the target of his latest attack as well, as Elon supports free speech.”
When Schiff promoted the debunked anti-Trump Steele dossier, Trump’s former State Department spokesperson Morgan Ortagus chastised Schiff for it. This happened during Ortagus’s guest co-hosting stint on ABC Daytime’s “The View.”
Schiff was on the show to promote his a book, but he got more than he bargained for when Ortagus accused him of possibly promoting Russian disinformation.
“I want to ask you about something that’s in the news a lot right now,” she said as she began to discuss his role in promoting the Steele dossier. “We know, last week, the main source was indicted for lying about most of the key claims in that dossier. Do you have any reflections on your role in promoting this to the American people?”
“Well, first of all, whoever lied to the FBI or lied to Christopher Steele should be prosecuted, and they are,” the representative said. “And unlike in the Trump administration, if they’re convicted, they should go to jail and not be pardoned.” He said that “we couldn’t have known” that people were “lying” to Steele, so it was “proper to investigate” the dossier and its claims that Trump was compromised by the Russians.
