SPEAKER RIPS JOE BIDEN TO SHREDS OVER DUMB DECISIONS ON MIGRATION AND AMNESTY FOR ILLEGALS

January 4, 2024

House Speaker Mike Johnson is berating the Biden administration for promoting migration as a record-breaking swarm of unauthorised immigrants floods the border.

When the White House and the Mexican government jointly released a statement on Thursday asking for amnesty for undocumented immigrants, Johnson became enraged. In order to create the announcement, a team led by Alejandro Mayorkas, Secretary of Homeland Security, met with officials from the Mexican government.

The declaration from Mexico’s government and the Biden administration stressed the need for “orderly, humane, and regular migration,” but it offered no answers to the issue of the hundreds of thousands of undocumented immigrants who cross the border into the United States illegally every month.

Since then, Johnson has declared that Biden’s endorsement of illegal immigrants in his pro-amnesty speech as a “vital part of the U.S. economy and society” was reckless.

“Unconscionable to hear the Biden Administration disclose that Secretaries Mayorkas and Blinken met with the President of Mexico to discuss amnesty for illegal immigrants at a time when America is facing the biggest border crisis in its history. The US needs to prioritise enacting laws that discourage, not encourage, foreigners from trying to enter the country.

Recent years have seen record highs for illegal immigration along the southern border, as evidenced by the fact that the Border Patrol encountered over two million illegal migrants in fiscal year 2023 and 2.2 million in fiscal year 2022, according to official data.

ICE made almost 3,000 arrests for criminal offences in FY 2023, the agency reports, following more than 2,200 arrests in FY 2022 and roughly 2,300 in FY 2021.

According to confidential government information that CBS News was able to obtain, over 300,000 migrants are anticipated to be processed by US immigration authorities in December, setting a new monthly record. There are probably a record number of child-bearing immigrant households included in this figure.

The three-year crisis at the border between the United States and Mexico has reached a critical point due to an unprecedented influx in migrants. Resources in both large and small American communities have been strained by this situation, which has also left many migrants uneasy and compelled lawmakers to think about severely restricting asylum. It has also significantly increased the vulnerability of President Biden’s reelection campaign.

As per the appointment system implemented by the Biden administration, it is anticipated that U.S. Border Patrol agents at the Mexican border will detain a quarter of a million undocumented immigrants this month, whereas their counterparts at authorised ports of entry will handle about 50,000 newcomers.

Monthly totals dating back to the fiscal year 2000 show that the quantity of migrants that U.S. Customs and Border Protection along the southern border in one month has never been higher.
