During an interview with NBC’s Kristen Welker, former president Donald Trump responded casually to a query regarding the possibility of being found guilty in any of the four charges brought against him and facing the prospect of going to prison.
Trump mentioned the possibility of spending time in jail during a part of the “Meet the Press” interview, saying, “I’m built a little differently.”
In the interview, which aired on Sunday, he remarked, “I don’t even think about it. “I guess I’m built a little odd because I’ve had people ask me, ‘How do you do it, sir? What is your method? I don’t even consider it.
I don’t even consider it. I’m dealing with corrupt people, he added. “They’re destroying our country. I don’t even think about it. All I think about is making the country great, making America great. Look, these are political, these are banana republic indictments. These are third-world indictments.”
At another point during the interview, Trump came back to Welker’s question about jail. “When you say, do I lose sleep? I sleep,” he said. “I sleep. Because I truly feel that, in the end, we’re going to win.”
“When I talk about retribution, I’m talking about fairness,” he declared. “We must treat everyone fairly. These individuals went on 6 January — some of them never even entered the building — and now they are receiving lengthy terms.
The former president stated that he would think about pardoning at least some of those who were found guilty of participating in the disturbance at the U.S. Capitol Building on January 6.
In another conversation, Welker inquired about calls for a “new generation of leaders in this country.”
Trump answered, “Well, it’s always time for a new generation. However, some of the greatest world leaders have been far into their eighties.
By the way, I’m not even close to 80,” he said. Biden isn’t too old, either. Biden isn’t too elderly, in my opinion. However, I believe that his incompetence is a bigger issue. 80 is not elderly, in my opinion.
Trump is apparently preparing some retaliation should he win the 2024 election because he is enraged by the legal battle that Democratic DAs and President Biden’s Justice Department are waging against him.
Trump declared that he will appoint a “real” special counsel to investigate into claims of corruption involving the current president and his family after being indicted for a fourth time by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis in Georgia last month.
