On Monday, Alina Habba, the former attorney general of President Trump, attacked New York Attorney General Letitia James, claiming she’s “just not that bright.”
Leading the current civil trial against Trump is James, who claims that for years, he and his grown sons, Eric and Donald Trump Jr., committed business fraud by manipulating the asset values of their company.
Habba stated that James doesn’t have a strong case in a Monday interview with Newsmax. Judge Arthur Engoron, however, has already determined that fraud took place, and the purpose of the current trial is to ascertain damages.
She’s simply not that intelligent. Habba apologised but had to make the statement. “I’ve seen their case and their solicitors. They have no idea what they’re discussing.
She maintained that what the judge found to be fraud is, in reality, typical practise in the sector.
“A bank is never going to tell you the true value of a loan; they’re just going to tell you it’s worth what the loan amount is, which is what happens when anybody takes out a loan,” she went on. “They won’t say anything more than what they want to say, or what the loan amount is, neither.”
Habba stated, “I don’t even know how to express how ridiculous this is. She needs to educate herself, maybe go to some.” It’s crazy, but it’s like being in a circus with a lot of people. I mean, I can’t say what I want to say on TV. It’s just so silly, you know. It is evident to all rational people that this is utterly absurd.
During the testimony, Engoron cut short a meandering Trump response that seemed like an unplanned campaign address.
“Mr. Kise, are you able to manage your client? “This is not a political rally,” Chris Kise, Trump’s lawyer, was questioned by Engoron.
James is requesting a $250 million fine as well as a prohibition on Trump and his sons’ ability to do business in New York.
Following her testimony on Monday, James stated that Trump’s “distractions” had not stopped her.
James told reporters, “We expected that, but he hurled insults and rambled.” “But, I refuse to be harassed or bullied.”
She said, “This case will continue.”
