US HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES VOTES TO CENSURE ADAM SCHIFF OVER ABUSE AND EXPLOITATION OF OFFICE

July 17, 2023

Adam Schiff has been censured by the House of Representatives by a vote of 213-209 “for abusing and exploiting his official position and bringing dishonour to the House of Representatives.”

Adam Schiff, a serial liar, will now be the subject of an ethics inquiry.

As the then-chairman of the House Intelligence Committee and throughout the congressional investigation into Russia and the Trump campaign, Schiff is charged with misleading the American people. Schiff is also accused of taking activities that contributed to the first impeachment of the former president. The accusations have been rejected by Schiff as “false and defamatory.”

Following the failure of a vote to defeat the legislation, the push to impeach Schiff, who is vying for a US Senate seat in California, overcame a significant procedural hurdle earlier on Wednesday.

Luna announced Tuesday she has secured the number of votes needed to censure and refer him to the House Ethics Committee.

Tuesday night, Luna tweeted, “I have called up my censure motion and will be bringing the vote to hold Adam Schiff accountable to the floor tomorrow.”

Before the vote, Luna alleged that “Adam Schiff, as chair of the House Intelligence Committee, launched an all-out political campaign based on baseless distortions against a sitting U.S. president, at the expense of every single citizen in this country and the honour of the House of Representatives.”

Schiff abused his privileges by pretending to know the truth while keeping the American people in the dark about his web of lies, which were so serious that they permanently changed the course of the nation. Schiff had access to sensitive information that was inaccessible to most members of Congress and most definitely not to the American people.

The decision to censure Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) triggered a raucous protest from numerous Democrats, who swarmed around him, and the House floor descended into turmoil on Wednesday.

Democrats began to demonstrate under the leadership of former Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), chanting “Shame! Shame! Shame!” Like a conductor, Pelosi directed her colleagues to continue the chants at one point.

Republicans in the House had previously exploited their majority in this Congress to target Schiff, as evidenced by the vote. Schiff was dismissed from the Intelligence Committee by McCarthy this year for advocating unproven assertions that the 2016 Trump campaign colluded with Russia.
